529 E 29th

BOUGHT Apr 2021 · SOLD Sep 2021 · THE WORK windows, kitchen, bath, exterior, fireplace

A 2021 job on East 29th Street in Davenport, and one of the more complete ones we’ve done. The house came to us dated and tired — peeling paint outside, a rotted set of steps, a pink-tile bath and an astroturf sunroom. We took it back to the studs where it counted: new windows throughout, new sheathing and exterior paint, a gutted kitchen and bathroom rebuilt with white cabinets, new appliances and a tiled tub surround, new flooring, and fresh paint top to bottom. We kept the character too — the brick fireplace and its built-ins stayed, just brightened up.

During the renovation

New windows and sheathing going in, the kitchen mid-install, and the bathroom taken to the studs and rebuilt with cement board for the new tile.

The house before

A few of the details we started with — the rotted front steps, the peeling side, the water-stained ceiling, and the old bay window.

The finished home

The finished house — the new white kitchen, the brightened fireplace and living room, the dining, bedrooms, the finished sunroom, the basement, and the fresh exterior front and back.
