This Dubuque Street bungalow had great bones and a ton of original character — so instead of tearing it out, we brought it back. We kept and refinished the original dark woodwork — the wide cased openings, the window and door trim, the built-ins — and rebuilt everything around it.
New flooring went in throughout the house, and every room got a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom was fully redone with a new tiled walk-in shower and vanity, the kitchen was updated, and the enclosed front sunporch was brought back as a bright sitting room. Out back, we cleared out an old steel-wall inground pool that was well past its life and reclaimed the yard.
